On World Rhino Day - 22 September 2026 - the Baton of Hope Challenge culminates in the launch of the OLLIArtMove Exhibition at the Nelson Mandela Bay Metropolitan Art Museum.

This exhibition celebrates creativity and effort as children across all grades use art to raise their voices for rhino conservation.

Each piece celebrating rhino will proudly display the child’s name and grade, reminding us that every voice matters.

Schools are invited to submit selected artworks by the 1 September and submissions are open to all schools – the more voices, the stronger the message. 3D, 2D, large or small, individual or collaborative – all submissions celebrating rhino are welcome.

Professional artists including Nicci Swartz, Bronwyn Derman, Christine Lamberth, BA Moolman, Robynne Gouws and Gill Bowman have partnered with OLLI and will exhibit alongside the children, with only their works available for sale to raise funds for rhino conservation initiatives.

At its heart, this project is about awareness and celebration: if we cannot save the rhino, what hope is there for any other endangered species?

Through art, our children can inspire action empowered to use their talents and abilities creating hope as we raise a generation that understands that they have it within their hands to make a difference and ensure that extinction is not our legacy.
